[5days 4nights in BKK] How should I plan it?

If you only have 5days 4nights in BKK, how should you plan it? Maybe I could give you a hand. My itinerary is based on my own experience. Of course you can fully copy it you want! Let say you reach BKK on Saturday, and you will be leaving on Wednesday. What should you do during these 5 days? Come! Let me help you.

Note1: From my pass experience, I found that you shouldn’t rely on AirAsia too much. Because after you have “add this add that”, you will found that it might be slightly more expensive than other airlines. So, I would suggest you, always check from Skyscanner (https://www.skyscanner.com.my/), for sure, they will give you the best price.

Recently, I took MAS. The price is not much different. Plus, you get 30KG luggage weight. So you don’t need to worry about it if you’d shopped too much.

Note2: If you landed at Don Mueng Airport, the only way you get into the city centre is TAXI. No other way, because the MRT still under construction. The TAXI counter is on your left, show the counter your address and get into the TAXI. Don’t forget to tell the taxi driver you need use FREEWAY to get into the city. So at this moment, please prepare small note for the toll.

Note3: If you landed at Survanabumi International Airport, you will have the 2nd choice which is airport link. If I’m not mistaken, the ticket to city will be 45THB. Yes, it is a lot cheaper than KLIA Express/ Transit. The airport link counter is located at the lower ground floor. Follow the sign board, it will lead you there.

Not4: Both of the airport has telco service counter (but Don Mueng only has 1, which is TRUEMOVE). They provided different packages but honestly, it’s similar. Normally I will get the “7days 1.5G Internet” passes. Please prepare your passport while you purchase the SIM card. No worry about the setting, the staff will handle it.

Simple and nice restaurant that provided breakfast everyday.
 Hotel Lobby.

Twin Room cost 2100THB per night. And, the MINI BAR is FREE!!
Not5: If you’re travelling with 5pax or more, I will suggest you book a van. Airport transfer is around 1200-1400THB, city tour will be around 3000THB. I knew a Chinese speaking drive, if you need it, please PM me (facebook.com/Jason790509).

Note6: There are a lot of hotel in Bangkok, from budget to luxury. My opinion is pick the hotel that near to the BTS. It will save a lot of energy if you need to carry shopping bag after. I stayed at
Silom One (http://www.silomone.com/), a small and cozy hotel with only 10 rooms. Most importantly, the BTS Sala Daeng station is only 50m away while the MRT is only 100m away. The location is perfect. Convenient store, pharmacy, restaurant, massage centre… etc is just walking distance.

Note7: I will suggest you reach Bangkok at the morning even you think the afternoon ticket is cheaper.

1st Day
Reach around 9am
4 Faces Buddha> Central World> REST> Ratchada Train Market> Massage

The 1st and main buddha is facing the main gate. Follow clock wise to pray and make your wish.

- Pray at 4 Faces Buddha (BTS Chitlom) - Gentle reminder, get the oblation inside the temple;

Dessert that you can't miss in BKK - After You!!

- Central World: Lunch Kum Poon (yummy local Thai food), there is always a room for dessert, so after that you can have your dessert at AFTER YOU. The dessert shop is just located opposite of the restaurant (https://jsunmag.blogspot.my/2016/06/top-5.html). Shop at department store ZEN (ZEN, one of the most famous department store in BKK. For men, please look for their leather shoes, it is awesome!! If you’re looking for branded underwear or swimming trunk, they have some famous international brand such as Andrew Christian and Aussie Bum);

- There is a LOVE God located at the square outside the mall. If you still searching for Mr/Ms Right, you may get some rose and make a wish.

4pm something
- Rest at the hotel

5pm something

- depart to Ratchada Train Market (MRT Thailand Cultural Centre)

Note8: the night market is very nice. If you wanna take some nice pictures, please reach there before 6pm. And, if you still have plenty of energy, you may visit the 3D Art in Paradise Museum (in Esplanade Mall) first.

Around 9pm

- The night is still YOUNG!! So you may pay a visit to Patphong Night Market which is just opposite the hotel (if you saw anything you like, please hold on because you might get it cheaper in other location) or else you can have a massage session at Chang Massage.

Note9: all the masseur in Bangkok doesn’t earn much from each session. So if you wanna give your masseur tips, I will suggest the amount is at least 100THB.

2nd Day
Chattuchak> REST> Asiatique> Massage

The coconut ice cream booth is just beside the MRT exit. Left hand side!!
My opinion: DON’T NEED TO WAKE UP TOO EARLY AND RUSH TO CHATTUCHAK. But take a light breakfast before you heading to Chattuchak (MRT Kampaeng Phet)

No matter where you stay, the easiest way to Chattuchak is by MRT. Firstly, the fashion area is just located at the exit of MRT. Secondly, this is an obvious landmark to gather you and your friend. Plus, there is a very YUMMY coconut ice-cream stall nearby which you can’t miss out!!

4pm something
- Rest at the hotel

5pm something

After the Muay Thai Live Show.
- Depart to Asiatique (BTS Saphan Taksin> free boat)
Of course, things at Asiatique will be a little bit pricey so don’t forget to bargain with the boss.

Asiatique The Riverfront is a large open-air mall in BangkokThailand. It is situated in the former docks of the East Asiatic Company, and faces the Chao Phraya River and Charoen Krung Road. The complex opened in 2012 after extensive renovation of the site.

Note10: There is a famous Muay Thai Live show (http://www.muaythailive.com/) at Asiatique. If you would like to know more about the story of Muay Thai please watch the show.

After you have done all your shopping and food hunting. You can enjoy your another massage session with another massage centre- Green Massage (http://thegreenmassage.wix.com/bangkok). Green Massage always full house. Call and book before you go.

3rd Day
Grand Palace, Sleeping Buddha> Terminal 21> Cloud 47

On your 3rd day, before you depart to city tour. You can have your breakfast at亞明 (https://jsunmag.blogspot.my/2015/07/pk.html). The restaurant is just 100m away from the hotel.

If can, please arrange a van to take you to the city tour. This will avoid some trouble such as you might meet a taxi driver that insist to bring you to the jewellery shop or get cheated in front those hot spot.

NO singlet, NO hot pants while you visit to the Grand Palace or temple.

2pm something

- Depart to Terminal21 (BTS Asoke/ MRT Sukhumvit)
After you’ve visited to those famous tourist spot, it’s time to do shopping again!! Terminal 21 is a one floor one theme shopping mall. The concept is market streets of the world. It is decorated based on well-known streets in cities such as RomeParisTokyoLondonand Istanbul. This mall has the longest escalators in Thailand, up to 36 metres.

Terminal 21’s foodcourt provided yummy food, so don’t forget to have your late lunch at the foodcourt.

Due to the law restriction street vendors are not allow to do their business on Monday. So what should you do on Monday night?

6pm something

I will suggest you to arrange a dinner at one of the rooftop bar Cloud 47 (https://jsunmag.blogspot.my/2015/07/cloud47.html). Cloud 47 serving a life refreshment and beacons of excitement with the 360° panoramic view, authentic fusion food, beverage, great music &live concert, including impressive services. So, you may experience the phenomenal moments with your love one with a casual dress.

4th Day
Platinum Mall> Siam ParagonSiam Square One… ETC> MBK

OK, another shopping day is on board!! Take a cab or UBER to Platinum Mall. Wait, wait, wait… before your shopping session, you can have the chicken rice at one of the most famous Chicken rice shop – Water Gate (although I think KL chicken rice is yummier).

Oh, don’t forget. Platinum Mall’s foodcourt has one of the yummiest Pork Leg Rice in town!!

6pm something

Continue your shopping at Siam Area.

For tonight dinner, you have 2 choices. 1. Another Hound in Siam Paragon. They provided Thai fushion food. 2. Hawker stall at MBK main entrance, cheap and nice.

Night Time
OK! Finally, the last night at Bangkok. If you saw something you like at the Patphong night market, now you can walk to there and bring it back. Or else, you can have another massage session, pamper your leg with a good massage since they have been working hard for the past few days.

I know, some of you might be looking for Thai Girl Show, but don’t get cheated at the Patphong Night Market. It is dangerous (

5th Day
Donate Coffin> Boots… ETC> back home

On my last day, I normally plan to visit Wat Hua Lamphong (MRT Sam Yan) to donate coffin (https://jsunmag.blogspot.my/2015/07/blog-post_99.html).

For dead bodies found and unclaimed by family members, you can donate money of any amount (usually 500 baht) to help in the burial of the deceased. Whether you are doing it out of merits or compassion, you are doing a good deed.

You will see a line of red chairs. The visitors will sit on those chairs and tell the officers the amount of money that they want to donate.  Write your name down on the pink paper. After donating money, you will get a pink paper and a certificate. Next step is to pray and paste the pink paper on the coffin. At last, pray and burn the certificate in the bowl here. Then, done!

2pm something

- Depart to Airport and bye bye BKK… I’ll be back!!

  1. Hi Jason ,

    Good day to you.

We like some of your travel itinerary especially on the part of " Donating Coffin " . We would definitely pay a visit to the respective temple to do some donation. It is good thing to do.

By the way , we saw a photo of you having chicken rice ( Steam chicken ) . Do you still keeping the address of the stall / restaurant ?

Please share it with us when you are free.

    Many thanks here ,
